J.C. Penney Co.'s chief executive will receive a pay package worth at least $4.7 million this year and it could more than double to $11.4 million if the department store chain tops earnings expectations. Myron Ullman, who also serves as chairman of J.C. Penney, is set to receive $1.5 million in base salary, plus $1.6 million each of stock options and stock grants that vest over time as his pay in 2010, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.  

Thanks to funds raised through a recent "Round-Up" campaign at the JC Penney store in Stephenville, more local children in need will have access to an affordable after school program.

Thousands of dollars worth of jewelry were stolen from the JC Penney in Santa Rosa Mall early Friday. The burglary occurred around 4:30 a.m. Deputies responding to the business' alarm found a shattered window on the store's east side and a shattered door on the store's south side, according to an Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office press release. The thief or thieves got away with between $10,000 and $20,000 in jewelry, said spokeswoman Michele Nicholson.
